10th June. Litchfield National park

We are booked for 3 nights. Coomalie RV camping ground. Electricity, water, showers & toilets all for $20 a night. It is very 'bush', no eftpos, no TV reception & no phone connect at the van. May by at Reception (a tin shed at the top of the hill.?) it's only 18k to Batchelor and we went there this afternoon. Full Telstra reception, an info centre, general store with PO which serves as a Commonwealth Bank, a petrol station, a takeaway food shop, pub, school 3 Churches, & all necessary services. It's a very pretty, very green pocket in this vast qountry.
We will spend the next 2 days seeing the National Park with its wonderful waterfalls.
We stopped at Adelaide River on the way up,
The river is beautiful & it is the site of a lot of WW11 history.
Note there are no sides to the bridge, there are a lot like this but the main highway bridge is up higher & was built later because during 'The Wet' this is a raging torrent.
Now to look up at the main bridge with the railway bridge beyond.
Looking down stream now
At Batchelor we saw a castle built by a man who couldn't move the rocks, so built this over it.
It's all so interesting, we are loving it.
