Yesterday I wrote this whole story 3 times & while adding a photo, I lost the lot. ( Then I lost the plot 😫😫😫)
Out last day in Charleville was a work day.....laundry, clean the shower, triple was the floor (make the most of free water), restock the van @ the IGA Supermarket, find a spot to store the 2 week supply.....and I did! Brian attended to all the outside requirements and furled up Diesel and gas.
We left at 9.50 for the 212k trip to Tambo. We stopped for a leg stretch at a Roadhouse with a distinctive road sign (photo 1 next Blog) I've heard since that they have a nice camping site also. The road was most 'exciting' (photo 2) going north/northwest. We knew there was a creek side camping sight at the beginning of town & went straight in. It's a lovely spot (photo 3/4/5/6) The next day we went for a drive around the LITTLE town which has an amazingly beautiful park on a lake (photo7/8) while there we saw the perfect example of progress, an old and a new Roadtrain. Well the old one was a 'commioned' Art feature. The other were 2 loads of cattle. (Photo 9/10) . We have to ford the creek to get to our place but there is no water at that point (photo 11) This is our 3 night allowable stop , beautiful hot sunny days and 'freezing cold ' nights....as bad as Melbourne. Very glad of hot water bottles and a gas heater. We have had a variety of neighbors in all types of vans .....and some not in vans (photo 12). Tomorrow we go to Blackall where we have electricity (we hope) as the next week as it is to be very cold over night.
