Forbes NSW Australia. Free camping on the edge of the Lake. Warm, very mild breeze, what more could one ask for?
Sandy Point proved to be a lovely site, golly this trip has started well. We set of for West Wyalong & the first place we had picked we didn't like so headed for the next one. 2pm pulled in, chose a site, wriggled around to make sure the van was level...... heard 6 huge semi transport vehicles swoosh past......got back in the car and drove on. Forbes gave a number of options so did 340k and have this amazing sight. We can stay here 2 days so are doing so. Tomorrow it's 300k to Coonabarabran.
Early evening we could hear a Drum approaching and being nosy went to investigate, this was the sight
What a lovely sight, just done for us!
Today, we did a quick flip into town, a very nice one I must say, fuelled up, I dropped Brian (not from a great height!) to walk home & I went to 'Anh Do's favourite shop "Vinnies" (I have just read his book, The Happiest Refugee) and HAD to buy another pair of mantis & a top ( well they were on sale! half price! I paid $4 for the lot.) then I was parked outside 'Aussie Biscuits' it looked different so again I investigated, it was one of those manufacturing shops that sells biscuits for Fund Raising a bit like the lamingtons & Girl Guide Biscuits. They look very nice so naturally I HAD to buy a couple of packets. Their funds are all for Disabled people.
We are enjoying the driving and now listening to the newly acquired talking book 'Danny Dunn, by Bryce Courtney', it makes us want to keep travelling.
This is our set up taken from the lakes edge.
There were about 25 vans here last night.
Nice to chat to Christy and Liz today. Liz and I have to chat about our favourite TV shows, Janet King on The ABC & Downtown Abbey on Channel 7.
Good to see our grandchildren on Facebook they have been having a great time over Easter & School holidays. Both families have been to the high country, not together & to different places.
It's Happy Birthday Ben tomorrow, he is 5 and is already a school boy.
